Supposedly there was a shipwreck here and the captain of the ship was decapitated. It's the typical story of the headless ghost wandering around, supposedly searching for his head.

There was a Privateer who was captured by the British as he was smuggling for the infant USA during the war of 1812. He was decapitated and his head was thrown overboard. The legend is that when his head was thrown overboard his dog jumped in afterwords. Now on nights of the full moon you can hear the mysterious baying of the dog loking for his master's head.
